Church Name

One of the things that is so important for any church is a name that is not only appealing but one that has meaning. For a long time I've been wrestling with possible names and finally I feel like I've found one that I like and has significant meaning for what the church will be about. Since the focus of our church will be knowing Jesus this name squarely puts the focus on Him and His mission. The name of the church plant will be Great Xchange Church. The name comes from the thought behind 2 Corinthians 5:21 which says, "For our sake He made Him to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." Jesus gave up the glories of heaven to become man, become our substitute in taking the wrath of God, and making it possible by grace through faith in Jesus death and resurrection to be in right relationship with God the Father. I hope that you'll see the name of this church speaks the Gospel message and my hope is that when people ask about the name of this new church we'll be able to share the Gospel message with them.
